Marcus Brown (born December 4, 1973), known by his stage name “Marcus Blak” is an American rapper, record producer, graphic designer, and businessman. From 1999-2011, Markus was the co-founder of Aten Records. Markus has been ranked by Source magazine as “One of the Greatest Lyricists of the 2000s” in 2005, and SPIN Magazine described Markus as “one of most influential freestyle artists of the generation”. He has also been considered one of the greatest live performers in hip-hop with “the energy of a rock star”.
Markus has also gained a reputation as a “sex symbol” in rap music with his dark brown skin tone, chiseled features, six-foot-five athletic stature, and clean-cut, urban style.
In the late 2010s, Marcus solidified his status as a successful record label producer, graphic artist, and businessman, and founder of a creative agency that has four offices in New York City, Atlanta, Paris, and Johannesburg.
