Here’s a preview of Chapter 1 from my debut novel Ungrateful, now available as paperback and eBook on Amazon, and paperback only on Barnes & Noble.
Synopsis: Alimah Kebede, a singer-songwriter, breaks barriers in alternative rock with chart-topping hits and high-grossing tours, at the cost of losing her sanity—and almost her life. Inspired by Me Too and its international impact, “Ungrateful” is a tale of a young Black woman’s spiritual battle against drug addiction, racism, and a sexually abusive CEO of a record label.

I started out writing children stories when I was in elementary school, including illustrating my own children's books. I have won numerous writing contests for short stories and playwriting, including winning first place in the NAACP ACT-So Awards in 2001 and going nationals for playwriting.
Now, creative writing (separately) is mostly a hobby for me. However, it is intertwined with my art and my career in education and a very important part of my creative life.
